01 · DEFINITIONWhat Flag Theory means
Flag Theory is a framework for organising your life across several countries instead of one. Residence, citizenship, banking and business are separate flags, and each one sits in the jurisdiction that serves it best.
The point is not secrecy. The point is resilience. If everything you own and are depends on one country, one new law or one bank decision can pull the floor from under you.
The first structured version came from Harry D. Schultz in 1963 with 3 flags: residence in a low-tax country, a company in an offshore haven, a passport with maximum travel freedom. W. G. Hill added assets abroad and playgrounds in 1989, the 5-flag theory. The modern 7-flag theory added digital identity with an online business and further areas of life.
Flag Theory is not a tax trick. It is a Plan B that prepares you for political, financial and regulatory change before it arrives.
At GoodbyeMatrix we have developed the classic model into Flag Theory 3.0: onshore instead of offshore, Web 3.0 and DeFi as a flag of their own, and the Cyber Sovereign as the goal. Emigrating is not a requirement.
Which flag you set first depends on your citizenship, your business model and your family. That is what we map in the free initial consultation.
