Step by Step

Step-by-step process: Citizenship by Investment in Antigua and Barbuda

The application process for acquiring citizenship of Antigua and Barbuda through the Citizenship by Investment program is clearly structured and efficiently managed with our support. The entire process can be divided into the following steps:

Processing Time

Typically up to 8 months until passport issuance

The stated period applies from the submission of the complete application. Our assessment covers the entire process, from the collection and verification of all required documentation, through the due diligence review and government processing, to the final issuance of the certificate of naturalization and the passport.

1
First step

1. Non-binding cost estimate
& initial information

The first step begins with your free, non-binding request for a detailed cost breakdown through the cost calculator further up on this page. You provide initial details regarding your family structure, the number of applicants, and your objectives.

More Details

Based on this information, we prepare a transparent cost estimate that takes into account all relevant fees, government charges, and available investment options.

Objective: to give you a clear overview of the total costs and the overall structure of the process - before you decide whether to proceed with a collaboration.

2
Personal assessment

2. Personal initial assessment
& collaboration with GoodbyeMatrix

After reviewing the quote, you may raise further questions, and we jointly analyze your objectives, family situation, and individual requirements. Based on this, we assess whether the Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment program strategically fits your international setup - legally, fiscally, and personally.

More Details

Once a suitable solution has been identified and you decide to proceed with a personal engagement with GoodbyeMatrix, we conduct a structured preliminary due diligence. This allows us to identify potential risks at an early stage, for example from a compliance perspective, and to clearly inform you about opportunities, feasibility, and any possible limitations.

Only upon a positive outcome do you receive formal confirmation to proceed, at which point the application process is officially initiated.

Your advantage: you move forward well prepared and safeguarded - without unnecessary time or cost expenditure.

3
After a positive review

3. Client onboarding & document preparation

Following a successful preliminary review, you are formally onboarded as a client. The initial fee from USD 10,000 is paid, and our engagement officially begins.

More Details

Together with you and, where applicable, your family, we compile all required documentation - from identity records and asset documentation to affidavits.

Our experts handle the complete application preparation, including translations, notarizations, and consistency checks. Once the dossier is complete, your application is formally submitted to the competent authority in Antigua and Barbuda.

Your advantage: you benefit from a carefully prepared application package designed to ensure efficient processing by the authorities, while we handle the administrative workload on your behalf.

4
Official submission

4. Application submission & payment of government fees

Following a final review, your application is officially submitted to the Government of Antigua and Barbuda. This marks the commencement of the formal processing by the Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU).

More Details

At this stage, the second retainer fee becomes due, along with the official government charges, including due diligence fees and processing costs. We ensure that all submissions and payments are executed accurately and within the required timeframes.

While the authorities review your documentation, we actively monitor the process, address any inquiries from the CIU, and keep you informed of every development.

Upon the successful completion of the due diligence process, you receive the official Government Pre-Approval.

Your advantage: you can proceed with confidence to the next step - fulfilling the investment requirement, such as the contribution to the National Development Fund (NDF) or the acquisition of an approved property.

5
After approval

5. Investment, naturalization & passport issuance

After receiving official government approval, the final investment is made - either through a non-refundable payment to the National Development Fund (NDF) or the University of the West Indies Fund (UWI), or by investing in an approved real estate project.

More Details

Once the investment is confirmed, your naturalization certificate is issued, and you officially become a citizen of Antigua and Barbuda.

Within a few weeks of naturalization, your passport is issued and securely delivered - either in person or, upon request, via secure courier.

Your advantage: typically up to 8 months after complete submission you hold your Caribbean second passport - and benefit from new opportunities in terms of freedom, mobility and asset protection.

“GoodbyeMatrix did not simply help us get a new passport - they opened up a whole new level of sovereignty for us.”

Our new passports from Antigua & Barbuda arrived early this morning - and with them a central milestone on our path to cyber sovereignty.

What sets GoodbyeMatrix apart from other providers is the combination of structure, speed and genuine expertise. From the first call to the final implementation - everything ran smoothly and highly professionally.

Thank you for the support on this path to Flag Theory 3.0. We now feel truly free - global, secure and independent.

“GoodbyeMatrix did not just walk us through the paperwork - they gave us a real sense of control and security.”

Our decision in favor of a second citizenship was driven by the concern of remaining able to act and remaining mobile in an emergency - whether pandemic, war or political unrest. Cyber sovereignty was not a theory for us, it was a necessity.

GoodbyeMatrix - and especially the team around Irish - made this path far easier for us. What at first looked like a document challenge was made solvable in only 3 to 4 weeks through clear structure, weekly checklists and constant support.

We particularly appreciated the transparency and reliability throughout the entire process. Thank you for this sovereign start into our personal Flag Theory 3.0.

★★★★★

“Cyber sovereignty for our family - with GoodbyeMatrix it became reality.”

As parents of four sons, our goal was clear: maximum freedom and protection for our children’s future - especially in view of the looming conscription in Germany. A second citizenship was our strategic plan B.

The path there was complex. Delays caused by German authorities, logistical challenges while we were traveling - it was anything but easy. But this is exactly where GoodbyeMatrix proved to be a real partner: with structured support, updated document checklists and personal guidance, the team led us through every single step.

Without the Sovereign Blueprint and the expertise of GoodbyeMatrix, we would never have been able to take this path so sovereignly and so efficiently. Today we are not only grateful - we are convinced. And we have already recommended GoodbyeMatrix several times.

Case study: the path to a second citizenship - with GoodbyeMatrix

Starting point: Increasing restrictions inside the EU - personally as well as financially - prompted us to look for a strategic way out: a second citizenship as part of our personal Sovereign Blueprint.

Challenge: Entering through the program in Grenada turned out to be bureaucratically demanding. Requirements, documents, processes - the reality was more complex than we had thought. In the end we decided to switch to Dominica.

Solution with GoodbyeMatrix: The team provided us with a structured checklist, accompanied certifications and translations, and answered every question quickly and competently. That support was the decisive difference between frustration and progress for us.

Room for improvement: The change of program was briefly bumpy in terms of communication - but it was quickly offset by clarity and efficiency in everything that followed.

Conclusion: Despite the hurdles: the value for money, the expertise in the field of Citizenship by Investment and the operational support convinced us. Anyone looking for reliable partners on the path to cyber sovereignty will find them at GoodbyeMatrix.

Security in uncertain times - to a second citizenship with GoodbyeMatrix

In a world full of economic uncertainty, geopolitical tension and growing risks, our decision was clear: we needed a plan B - and with it a second citizenship as a strategic building block of our cyber sovereignty.

What we expected: bureaucracy, language barriers and uncertainty. What we got: structure, clarity and an excellently organized team that accompanied us through the entire process.

What makes GoodbyeMatrix special:

Real closeness: The WhatsApp group was not lip service - we got answers quickly and directly, often within a few minutes.

Reliable structure: The English-language application process was never an obstacle thanks to German-language support. Every step was explained understandably.

Maximum efficiency: From collecting the documents to filing the application - everything ran smoothly.

We did not feel like a “customer” - but like partners on the path to Flag Theory 3.0. We would choose GoodbyeMatrix again at any time - and recommend them without reservation.

★★★★★

A strategic family decision: to cyber sovereignty with GoodbyeMatrix

For our family, acquiring a second citizenship was not a “nice to have” - it was a deliberate step toward security, freedom of action and future sovereignty. The reasons were clear: protection from conscription for our son. Freedom to travel for our mother-in-law. And a stable plan B for all of us.

Despite our previous experience with naturalization procedures, one thing quickly became clear: without GoodbyeMatrix the effort would have been incomparably higher.

What made the difference:

WhatsApp support in real time: no long waiting times, no standard answers - instead direct, competent guidance.

Translations & formalities? Taken off our hands completely.

The sovereign process: every step was well thought through, clear, smooth.

One concrete suggestion for improvement from our side: a visualized timeline at the start that makes the waiting phases transparent. Apart from that? Perfect execution and a full recommendation.

★★★★★

“A decision for our children’s future - and the most sovereign plan B one can have”

We deliberately decided on a second citizenship through the Citizenship by Investment program in Antigua & Barbuda - not only as security for our children, but as a strategic step toward cyber sovereignty. With the Sovereign Blueprint, GoodbyeMatrix gave us a clear structure that made the entire process plannable and manageable.

Thanks to the detailed checklists and the strong support from the team, putting the documents together was considerably easier than we had thought. Of course - it was work, but not hurdles that make you fail.

Particularly helpful: the WhatsApp support, which made quick responses possible, and the clear payment processes - transparent, efficient, trustworthy. Even under time pressure we felt safe. The GoodbyeMatrix team gave us the feeling of being in the best hands.

We recommend GoodbyeMatrix without reservation - anyone who wants to realize their personal plan B gets far more than advice here. You get a system, a strong network and the good feeling of being prepared - for whatever may come.

Exception: individuals from these nations may still be eligible to apply if they migrated before reaching the age of majority and/or have maintained permanent residence in an approved third country for at least 10 years, while maintaining no economic ties to their country of origin.

Note: applicants from these states are subject to enhanced due diligence requirements and additional costs for background checks. Every case is reviewed individually.

Yes. All successful applicants and their family members must take an Oath of Allegiance to officially receive their citizenship.

Important notes:

  • The oath can be taken in person in Antigua and Barbuda, at one of its embassies or consulates abroad, or before a licensed notary in your current country.

  • For your convenience, the ceremony can be completed remotely via a secure video link, so you do not have to travel specifically for this step.

  • Taking the oath is a mandatory legal requirement. Once completed, your certificate of naturalization and passport are issued.

Can I hold multiple citizenships in addition to my Antigua and Barbuda citizenship?

Yes. Antigua and Barbuda allows unrestricted dual citizenship. According to the Citizenship Act of 1982, you are permitted to retain all existing passports. Please also check the rules of your country of origin.

Can I pass my citizenship on to my children and future generations?

Yes. Antigua and Barbuda citizenship can be passed on to future generations - provided the physical residency requirement of 5 days within the first 5 years of naturalization is met and the birth is properly registered. Children born after the parents have obtained citizenship acquire it automatically by descent. Grandchildren also benefit, provided all documentation is complete and legal requirements are fulfilled.

How does the Antigua and Barbuda CBI program compare to other Caribbean nations?

Antigua and Barbuda is consistently ranked among the leading CBI jurisdictions in the Caribbean. Below is a concise comparison of the key differences:

  • Antigua and Barbuda: most cost-effective for families. It remains the most attractive option for families of four or more. In addition, the University of the West Indies (UWI) Fund option is designed for large families of six or more and includes a one-year university scholarship for one dependent.

  • Dominica: most affordable for individuals. While most Caribbean nations increased their minimums in 2024 and 2025, Dominica remains one of the most accessible entry points for single applicants.

  • Grenada: access to the US E-2 visa. Grenada is the only Caribbean CBI nation with a treaty that allows citizens to apply for the US E-2 investor visa, making it the top choice for those with business ambitions in the United States.

  • St. Kitts and Nevis: as the pioneer of the CBI model, established in 1984, it is often viewed as the most prestigious brand.

  • St. Lucia: maximum investment flexibility. St. Lucia offers the widest variety of paths, including government bonds, which are refundable after a holding period, unlike standard donations.

Conclusion: Antigua and Barbuda stands out for its value for families, solid global mobility and the educational benefits integrated into its investment paths.

How strong is the Antigua and Barbuda passport?

The Antigua and Barbuda passport offers visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 150 countries, including the EU Schengen Area, Hong Kong, Singapore, Russia, China and South Africa. Citizenship is granted for life, the passport is initially valid for 5 years and can then be renewed for 10-year periods.
