The Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa is designed for remote workers, including freelancers and entrepreneurs of all nationalities. The program provides a pathway for digital professionals to live and work in Cyprus while maintaining employment with foreign entities.
Qualification is based on demonstrated remote work capacity and financial self-sufficiency. Applicants must prove a minimum monthly income of EUR 3,500. This income threshold establishes that the remote worker can sustain themselves in Cyprus without requiring local employment or social support.
The program targets location-independent professionals whose work does not depend on a physical presence in their employer's jurisdiction. Freelancers, remote employees, and entrepreneurs operating businesses outside Cyprus all qualify under the same framework. The visa enables legal residence in Cyprus for the duration of the permit while the holder continues professional activities for non-Cypriot clients or employers.
Applicants must demonstrate a stable monthly income of EUR 3,500 or more. This amount must be verifiable through employment contracts, client agreements, or business documentation. Income fluctuations below this threshold disqualify the application.
Proof of employment or business activity outside Cyprus is mandatory. Employed applicants must submit contracts showing engagement with a foreign company. Freelancers and entrepreneurs must provide client agreements, service contracts, or business registration documents proving their work originates from outside Cyprus. The key requirement is that income must come from foreign sources, no local Cypriot employment or business activity is permitted during the application or after approval.
Health insurance valid in Cyprus must cover the entire residence period. The policy must be active before submission and remain valid throughout the permit duration. Standard travel insurance does not satisfy this requirement, the coverage must be comprehensive and accepted by Cypriot authorities.
A clean criminal record certificate from the applicant's country of citizenship or current residence must be submitted. The certificate must be recent, typically issued within three months of application. Documents in languages other than Greek or English require certified translation.
The application process is conducted entirely online through the designated government portal. Physical submission of documents is not required at the initial stage. All supporting materials must be uploaded in digital format during the online application.
EUR 3,500 per month is the minimum income requirement for the Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa.
Your income must originate from employment with a foreign company. You cannot earn this income from local Cypriot employment during the application process or after receiving the permit.
You must provide proof of employment demonstrating the foreign employment relationship and monthly income level. This documentation is mandatory for approval.
Income from local Cypriot companies or self-employment within Cyprus does not qualify. The visa is structured exclusively for remote workers earning from abroad.
Most people live where they were born. Not where it makes strategic sense. They choose a country. Sovereign individuals build a setup.
A strong international setup considers:
Not just a visa.
In the strategy call, we evaluate which residency programs make strategic sense - and which ones could limit you long-term, create unnecessary obligations, or lead to avoidable tax exposure.
Build an international setup that gives you options - not dependencies.
