01 · OVERVIEWWhat makes this program stand out

If you are looking for an Albania visa that fits remote work, the Digital Nomad Visa is the route built for it. The Albania Digital Nomad Visa is a residency program designed specifically for digital nomads. It enables location-independent professionals to legally reside in Albania while working remotely for employers or clients based outside the country.

This program falls under the category of Digital Nomad Visa arrangements. It provides a formal legal framework for remote workers who earn their income from foreign sources to establish temporary residence in Albania without requiring traditional employment or business sponsorship within Albanian territory.

The visa is structured to accommodate the needs of internationally mobile workers. It recognizes remote work as a legitimate basis for residency and offers a pathway for digital professionals to base themselves in Albania for an extended period while maintaining their existing work arrangements abroad.

How to prove your financial means

You must document your financial capacity to support yourself during your stay in Albania. This requirement ensures you can cover living expenses without becoming dependent on public services.

The Albanian authorities accept bank statements as the primary proof of solvency. Your statements should clearly show available funds and cover a recent period, typically the last 1–3 months. The statements must be official documents issued directly by your bank, bearing the bank's letterhead and official seal or authentication.

If you maintain accounts in multiple banks or jurisdictions, you may submit statements from all active accounts to demonstrate your total liquid capacity. Combined statements strengthen your application and provide clearer evidence of financial stability.

Third-party verification is often accepted. Many applicants provide bank statements that have been certified or notarized by the issuing financial institution, adding an official layer of authentication. Some banks offer official letters of account standing that confirm your account balance and account history without revealing full transaction details, these are equally valid as supporting documentation.

Digital nomad visa authorities also recognize investment account statements showing brokerage holdings, cryptocurrency exchange balances, or other liquid investment positions. These documents should be current (issued within the last month) and clearly identify you as the account holder.

For applicants with employment income, recent pay stubs or employment contracts demonstrating ongoing salary deposits into your bank account serve as supplementary proof. This approach is particularly useful if your regular deposits show consistent monthly income exceeding the required threshold.

Business owners and self-employed applicants may submit business bank account statements showing company funds, provided the account is in your name or clearly identifies you as a signatory with authority over those funds. Tax returns or business registration documents can accompany these statements for additional credibility.

All financial documents must be dated within the last 90 days to be considered current. Statements older than three months may be rejected as they do not accurately reflect your present financial position.

Documents in languages other than English or Albanian should be accompanied by certified translations. The translation must be performed by an official translator recognized in your home country or by the Albanian authorities, and the translator's credentials should be included with the submission.
